ArkClaw runs on ByteDance's servers, not your device. This means your tasks execute even when every device you own is off. You register, initialise once, and your AI assistant is always available — no local maintenance, no uptime concerns on your end.

Step 1 Register

Visit the ArkClaw official site (link in Resources)
Sign up with a phone number and complete SMS verification
Complete identity verification as required by ByteDance security policy — usually instant

Step 2 Choose a plan

Personal: adequate for individual use and single-user automation
Professional: needed if you run multiple concurrent scheduled tasks
Team: shared configuration across a group, collaborative workflows

Start with Personal. You can upgrade at any time if you hit concurrency limits. Many users find Personal sufficient. Pricing: check the official site — this page cannot guarantee current accuracy.

Step 3 Initialise — the critical settings

Server region: choose the one geographically closest to you for lowest latency
Timezone: set to Asia/Shanghai (UTC+8). This is the most common cause of scheduled tasks running at wrong times — get it right now
Base Skills: install the Efficiency Assistant pack to start — add more as needed
Verify online: dashboard should show "Assistant Online" when complete

Timezone is critical: UTC+8 / Asia/Shanghai. A wrong timezone setting will make every scheduled task fire at the wrong time. Check this immediately after registration.

Step 4 Test

Send a test command: "What time is it right now?"
Verify the response shows the correct local time (confirms timezone is set)
Log in on a second device — confirm conversation history syncs
Create a task to trigger in 5 minutes — verify it fires on schedule
