ArkClaw Automation Setup

Create scheduled tasks that run in ByteDance's cloud — no device needs to be on. Configure once, runs forever.

ArkClaw Guide Updated March 2026

// The key difference

Local OpenClaw tools (QClaw, OpenClaw) run scheduled tasks only while your computer is on. ArkClaw tasks run on ByteDance's infrastructure — a 3am data collection job runs whether or not any of your devices are active. This is cloud hosting's primary practical value.

Create a task

  • Go to ArkClaw → Automation Centre → New Task
  • Select trigger type: Time-based (recommended for new users) or Event-based
  • Use the graphical time picker — avoid writing Cron expressions until you are comfortable
  • Write what ArkClaw should do in the action field
  • Save → click Start
Tasks default to Paused: Saving a task does not activate it. You must click Start. This is the single most common reason tasks do not run.

5 templates Ready to use

Daily news digest
"Every morning at 7am, collect yesterday's top tech and AI news, summarise into 5 bullet points, push to me"

Server monitoring
"Every hour, check [your server URL] — if response time exceeds 3s or status is not 200, alert me immediately"

Competitor tracking
"Every weekday at 5pm, check [competitor site/account] for new content and send me a summary of any updates"

Work summary
"Every Friday at 4pm, ask me for this week's key accomplishments and format them into a weekly report"

Content pipeline
"Every weekday, draft one social media post about [topic] and queue it for my review"

Command quality: Include When + What + Format. "Every morning at 7am / collect tech news / summarise into 5 bullets" is far more reliable than "give me news every day".

Troubleshooting

Task did not fire at the scheduled time
Check in order: (1) task status is Active, not Paused; (2) timezone is Asia/Shanghai in Settings; (3) account is not overdue on subscription; (4) if using Cron syntax, validate it with an online Cron checker.
